UzEnergy Expo 2026 Recap: Solar Carports, Roof and Ground Mounting, and EV Charging in Tashkent
    Oct 23, 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan — 20–22 October 2026. For three days at Uzexpocentre, Hall 1, Booth D04/1, we ran live demos of the full 9SUN structure range: solar carports, roof mounting systems, ground mount structures, rails and clamps, and AC/DC EV chargers. Here's what we showed, what buyers asked, and what it says about where the Uzbek market is heading. Why Uzbekistan is now a mounting-structure market The panel supply chain has matured. The bottleneck has moved to what holds the panels up. Uzbekistan is targeting 2.8 GW of new solar capacity in 2026 as part of a 6.7 GW capacity plan (Enerdata, February 2026). Combined solar and wind capacity already passed 6.3 GW by the end of 2025, with a 7,000 MW solar goal for 2030 and a 40% renewable share target for the same year. That volume of installation puts pressure on three things that don't scale as fast as module supply: galvanizing capacity, structural engineering for wind and sand, and installation labour. That was the conversation at the booth — not "which panel", but "which structure survives 15 years here". What we exhibited Solar carport system Single and double-bay carports with W-beam columns, integrated drainage, and pre-drilled rails for EV charger mounting. The version on show was configured for a 22 kW AC charger per bay, with cable routing built into the column rather than surface-mounted. For shopping centres, hotels and fleet yards, the carport is usually the first structure a client asks for — because it earns revenue from charging rather than only protecting cars. Roof mounting system Trapezoidal, corrugated and standing-seam clamp options, plus roof hooks for tile. The standing-seam clamp avoids drilling entirely, which matters when the building owner won't accept a warranty risk. Rails are cut to length before shipment, so on-site work is assembly rather than fabrication. Ground mount system Ground-screw, concrete-ballast and pile-driven variants, with fixed and adjustable-tilt configurations. Adjustable tilt drew the most interest from EPC contractors working on sites where soil conditions vary across a single plot. Rails, clamps and small parts AL6005-T5 aluminium rails, SUS304 mid and end clamps, grounding clips and cable management. Small parts are where projects quietly fail — mismatched clamp thickness, missing grounding continuity, or bolts that rust before the panels do. We brought cut samples so buyers could check wall thickness and thread quality in hand. EV chargers The 7 / 11 / 22 kW Type 2 AC wallbox and the 30 kW DC unit, both shown mounted on the carport rather than on a separate plinth. The point being made: charging hardware and structure should be specified together, because cable length, protection rating and load path all depend on each other. Three questions buyers kept asking 1. "What's the galvanizing thickness, in microns?" Not "is it galvanized". Buyers in this market are specifying coating weight now, which is a healthy sign — it means they've been burned by thin coatings before. We now quote zinc thickness and salt-spray hours alongside the price. 2. "Aluminium or hot-dip galvanized steel?" The honest answer depends on the project: aluminium for coastal and low-load rooftop work, galvanized steel for large ground-mount arrays where cost per kW matters more than weight. We stock both, and the specification should follow the site, not the sales sheet. 3. "Can you supply OEM for our EPC tender, and what's the lead time?" Most enquiries came with a deadline attached — a tender submission date or a construction schedule. Private-label packaging, drawing-based customisation and pre-assembled kits were the three requests that came up repeatedly. What happens next Sample kits for the clamp and rail ranges are being prepared for the projects discussed at the show. Structural calculation packs (wind and snow load, per configuration) are available on request for tender submissions. Carport-plus-charger configurations can be quoted as a single package, including the AC or DC unit, mounting bracket and cable routing. If you're specifying a project in Central Asia and want the drawings or datasheets from the booth, send us the site parameters — wind speed, snow load, roof type or soil condition — and we'll come back with a configuration rather than a price list. 9SUN New Energy — solar mounting structures, carports and EV charging, manufactured in Xiamen, China.
